Who is safer than a little baby sleeping on his mother’s chest? Why when I grew up I lost this sense of safety?
Now, and those who are close to me can easily see that I can shake and shiver easily, sometimes I pretend to be wild and take the initiative of showing my fangs but I am all shaking from the inside.
This being said let me introduce my thoughts about fear. As usual my thoughts are inspired by Dr.Refaat Ismail and Dr.Khaled Tawfik. I read once that fear has many reasons.
Humans fear what they don’t know, in old myths it was said that knowledge (symbolized by fire) was illuminated on the top of the Olympus Mountain and that Greek Gods didn’t want human to know the power of fire (knowledge). Then comes Prometheus who is half God half human (like Hercules) and he pull it together, climb the mountain, brought fire to humans and showed them that they should not fear fire, it is useful to them. Later the Gods punished Prometheus for bringing fire (knowledge) to humans and they roped his body between two mountains and each morning Rokh comes and eat his liver and in the night a new liver is being created in him to renew torture.
Also there is another type of fear (could be funny) Dr. Refaat gave an example of a student at class, and the teacher is calling the names of the students to hand them their copybooks and the student is waiting for his name to be called but this doesn’t happen. So this is another kind of fear, and this explains why do people rush in metros and in governmental offices kolo 3ayez ye7ge7 7a2o.
Other types of fear, it is said to be inherited from ancient humans, for example claustrophobia is said to be inherited when we were in our mother’s wombs, fear of the dark closed placed like womb and like grave. Also other kinds of fear that goes back to cave man era, his fears are inherited in our fears.
To be continued …
Fear is not always bad, fear is a huge driving force for being better person if used wisely and didn't overwhelm the person to the extent that he/she avoids everything out of fear.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am most of the time alone, but my biggest fear is being left alone!!
Oh wow Dr. MOhammed ... you answered the question of my second post ... it is about "what is your worst nightmare or what is your fear" please comment tani ba2a when I post it ... your blog 3a2adetny ya Dr. men kotr el comments :-))))))))) Million Thanks
ReplyDeleteFear ya Marianne is something good, but actually we have to get feared from our God only. But, unfortunately we need to strengthen ourselves to get more brave. Your blog is nice ya Marianne keep them coming!
ReplyDelete:-)
Hmmmmm ... I really can't figure out how can fear be something good?
ReplyDeleteFear is a combination of different internal driving forces in human nature. When Someone fears something, he/she has feeling of insecurity either psycholgically or physically. Fear is good enough when you use it to modify your risky behaviors. But if you exceed in fearing, you won't even live your life fearing any and every little thing
ReplyDeleteBosi ya Marianne if I talk about myself I will say that Fear is a part of my life wherever I go it follows me...it is good sometimes but usually it annoys cause it spoils and could destroy your life...but we always try to balance between our fear and our hope... I wont say dont be afraid but try to fight your fear as much as you can :)
ReplyDeleteAsmaa
Thanks a lot Ethem :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that fear is a bad thing since it sometimes pushes us to do what's right... or opens our eyes to the hidden truth (despite that fact that I'm a person who gets traumatized when feeling fear)...
ReplyDeleteawaiting the rest of the fear types...
Love your blog
Sometimes I'm afraid of being alone so much that i'm terrified at teh very idea.
ReplyDeleteFear is positive, if you learn to face it.but i agree with you, that often it is destructive and scary.
